Belt tear detector is a protective device to detect and alarm the longitudinal tear of conveyor belt. It is used for automatic alarm or emergency stop when the conveyor belt is torn, punctured, damaged at the junction or sharp objects protruding out of the conveyor belt.

Why is there a tear?
When mining raw materials such as ore and coal, sharp iron and wood are mixed in due to various reasons, such as tool loss, on-site repair, etc., which enter the chute with the raw materials, fall and run through the belt.
According to statistics, 99% of conveyor belt tearing faults occur at transfer points, which are specifically in the following two situations:
-The penetrating foreign objects moves forward with the belt, touches the idler, and splits the conveyor belt.
-If it can't be found in time, the whole belt will be split, resulting in production stagnation and major economic losses.
Detection principle
When an extraneous matter or a large piece of material pierces or a sudden abnormal sag of the conveyor belt, the extraneous matter will squeeze with the sensor installed in front of the roller, thereby triggering the belt detection sensor. The detector receives the sensor signal and converts it into a switch signal output ( Stop signal), so as to prevent the conveyor belt from tearing or within the minimum range.
The penetrating foreign material moves forward with the belt and touches the sensor detector.
The sensor detector sends the signal to the converter, and the converter sends out the switch signal of shutdown and alarm.
The conveyor power system loses power and stops running.
